Carol King is a retiree living in the Princeton New Jersey area. Her anchoring activity in retirement has been Director of the Next Step: Engaged Retirement & Encore Careers program offered by the Princeton Senior Resource Center. This program is designed to help boomer generation employees plan for a rewarding lifestyle in retirement. Carol designed the program and directed it since 2009. She retired from PSRC in September 2015 after 10 years, her second retirement.
Also in her retirement life portfolio are volunteer activities that include Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit fair trade store, where she gets her happiness fix selling handicrafts from third-world countries. She is also treasurer of a local opera group, occasional coach of seniors in computer classes, and helps out at a local music festival. Carol is a member of the Mercer County Community College Advisory Commission on Aging and a deacon in her church.
In her pre-retirement life, Carol was a college professor (tourism & hospitality management, organizational behavior, management and leadership), as well as a church financial administrator, hospitality industry consultant, food service manager and occasional technical writer. She has both an MBA and a PhD from New York University.
